Urgent COVID-19 Update

Dear Covenant,

I write to inform you that church leadership has come to the difficult decision to immediately suspend all in-person Covenant Church gatherings, services and ministries until further notice.

How have we come to this decision? We seek with wisdom and prayer to discern the input of those with unique knowledge in these matters and those in positions of authority. Our responsibility, as circumstances around us change, is to speak, live, and make decisions in such a way that the Gospel message of flourishing would be extended to everyone, especially the vulnerable. By taking this more drastic action of shutting down now, we may prevent the spread of the virus later. Preventing the spread of the virus may literally save lives and diminish the duration of this trial. Therefore, in the interests of “loving our neighbor” we, along with many large and small organizations have determined to take this step.

During this suspension, we will be live streaming worship at 10 am this Sunday. We would ask you to join us online and share this opportunity with others who may be in need of some encouragement and without a place to go.  If you need tech support, please text 2159996633 and we can help you access the stream.

Following the service, it will be posted to our website at Covenantdoylestown.org/messages for you to watch at your convenience.

Know that we share this news with a heavy heart, not fearful or dismayed, but with the weight of difficult decisions in the face of challenging times. I’m grateful in times such as these that we can find comfort in the promised truth we find in such passages as Psalm 91, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty….He alone is our refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust in Him.”

For the duration of this closure, we plan to create opportunities to stay connected and engaged as a church family. If you need help or have questions, please reach out to our church office or any of our staff for assistance. You can also check our website and watch social media (links at the bottom of the page) for additional updates.

Grace and peace,

Rob Bloss
