Taking Steps Intellectually, Physically, Spiritually, Emotionally, and Socially

NEWS & UPCOMING IN JANUARY 2021

Due to some unfortunate circumstances (not the least being COVID), Stepping Stones Preschool had to close for the 2020-2021 school year. But now we are making plans to reopen for the 2021-2022 schoolyear! In the meantime, we wanted to create an opportunity for children to still enjoy time together while keeping their skills sharp. And so, that is why we decided to create a Preschool Club!

This relaxed, fun club will begin January 5, 2021. It will meet at Covenant from 9 to 11:30am every Tuesday and Thursday from January until May. The cost for this exciting experience is only $200 per month. We hope your child can join us for the fun!

Preschool Club FAQ

Is this Preschool?
This will run in many of the same ways as our Stepping Stones Preschool runs; however, it is meant to be more relaxed. There won’t be assessments or report cards. The class will enjoy circle time, read-aloud books, centers, crafts, and a few intentional learning activities sprinkled in.

When & Where will this be offered?
The Preschool Club will only be offered twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 11:30am. We will be at Covenant Church in the Stepping Stones Preschool’s main room (Room 100) in the Children Center. We will follow Central Bucks School District’s lead for any snow days and/or school closings. Our first day of Club will be on Jan 5, 2021.

Do parents need to remain with the children?
No! This is not only meant to be a fun experience for your children but a break for you as parents too. We will have a CAR LINE drop-off / pick-up (as we do for regular preschool).

Can I pick and choose which days I drop my child off?
No, consistency and stability are key for any child’s success and security. Thus, this is much like our preschool – we will ask you to register for the entire 5 months (January to May) and pay the tuition/fee at the start of the month.

How old does my child need to be?
Your child will need to be 3 (and potty-trained) by January 1, 2021 to participate.

Will this be one class or two?
This depends on the responses we receive. Currently, we are planning on simply having one combined class for both 3s & 4s. If we find that we have many who are interested, we will split the 3s and 4s into their own groups.

What about snacks and supplies?
Snacks: we would like to start off the club by asking you to send along a simple, no-mess, peanut/tree nut-free snack that your child can enjoy during the morning.

Supplies: We will provide a short list of supplies your child should bring along on the first day of club – these supplies will be kept at the preschool and only used by your child.

What about safety procedures?
Covenant’s Children’s Ministries has implemented a set of guidelines based off of CDC and the PA Department of Health’s recommendations. We will be abiding by these guidelines as best as we can. Here are a few of those guidelines:

MASKS / FACESHIELDS: Masks will be required by all children and staff. There will be “mask breaks” throughout the day.

TEMPERATURE: We will take all the children’s temperatures upon arriving. If a child has a temperature 100° or greater, we will not permit that child to participate that day.

HANDS: We will be taking time for the children to wash their hands or rub some hand sanitizer on their hands throughout the day.

DISTANCING: We will do our best in keeping the children spaced apart – from lining up with arms outstretched to sitting in designated spots on the floor and at tables. Keep in mind, though, that children of this age will not understand or remember to keep their distance, so there will be times when children will be close together. Also, if a child is sad or needs a little comfort, our teachers will still give hugs of reassurance. Touch is still important during this time.

If you feel that the measures we are going to take are not going to work for your family, we ask that you enjoy activities at home. and return to Stepping Stones in the fall of 2021!

How much is the Preschool Club?
We are charging $200 per month for this club. The club will run for five months (from January to May), thus totaling $1,000 for the entire experience. As we progress through the season, if we offer any extra outings, camps, or other events, we will let you know in advance any extra cost you may need to pay for that.

About Stepping Stones Preschool

Guiding children through their first years of school is an amazing privilege!  Here at Stepping Stones, we provide a safe, secure, loving and caring environment so that your child can grow and reach their highest possible potential.  Your child is of great value to us, and we love seeing them discover the world around them through an unashamedly Christian worldview.

Christ-centered learning is the foundation of our daily routine.  At Morning Meeting, we affirm that we are all made in the image of God, and we begin to see others through that same lens.  Developmentally appropriate programs allow children to explore God’s Word and His World, using creative play, small and large group activities, hands-on learning centers and individualized instruction.  Our well-trained and highly certified teachers guide their students lovingly and creatively  toward a life-long love of learning.

Learning is cooperative. Teachers desire to partner with parents to help their children grow. At Stepping Stones, we value parents and want to make sure regular communication occurs. We do this through emails, parent conferences, and monthly newsletters. In addition, we encourage parents to share in their child’s preschool experience by volunteering in the classroom or with special events.

Please Note that listed below are classes based on the 2020 school year before the COVID-19 Pandemic forced us to close for a period. Should we re-open to a normal schedule, classes may be structured differently than listed below.
